WHAT TO EXPECT

SPEAKERS AND WORKSHOPS

A JAM Session for Bosses with Jordan A. Madison, LCMFT

A mental health workshop focused on providing tangible ways to practice self care through Journaling, Affirmations and Mindfulness. Journals and journal prompts will be provided for reflection and then shared if attendees feel comfortable to promote community building. Affirmations will be created and girls will receive an affirmation jar to store them in as a keepsake. Mindfulness will include some deep breathing and grounding techniques to help the girls feel centered and calm their nervous system.

B.O.S.S. Energy & Building a Self-Care Vibe with Marcia T. Leftwich

In this interactive session, girls will learn how to create a “self-care vibe” that boosts mental wellness, confidence, and resilience. Through real talk and engaging activities, they will discover how intentional self-care fuels true “boss energy” and supports overall well-being. Together, we will challenge the myth that self-care is selfish and reinforce that prioritizing wellness is non-negotiable. Girls will gain tools to balance life’s demands while building a daily routine that fits real life. Each participant will leave with a personalized self-care action plan to believe boldly, overcome challenges, shine inside and out, and succeed like a true B.O.S.S.

BUILDING YOUR POWER BRAND: Developing Your Personal & Professional Voice! with Janice Ferebee, MSW

Join local author, award-winning female-empowerment expert, and podcast host Janice Ferebee for an engaging, interactive workshop where you’ll learn how to transform your passions and values into your personal and professional POWER BRAND. Ms. Ferebee will guide you through the process of creating a podcast—a powerful platform that helps teen girls build their brand by sharing their unique voices. Your BRAND is your roadmap to showing up in the world unapologetically.

The Money Power Hour: Real Talk, Real Choice with Dawn Mabery Chestnut

"In this fast‐paced, interactive session, girls will bust common money myths, tackle real‐world shopping challenges, and dive into honest “money talk” with their peers. Through hands‐on activities and relatable scenarios, they’ll build confidence in making smart financial decisions, understanding value, and speaking up about money. Participants leave empowered with practical skills they can use right away—and a clearer sense of how to take charge of their financial future."

Future Rich: The High School Girl’s Guide to Saving & Credit with Aja Clark

Future Rich: The High School Guide to Savings and Credit will help setting a budget no matter what income level and provide a foundational understanding of credit.

Boss up Your Life: Speaking Up and Standing Strong with Dr. Shannon Hughley

In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to communicate effectively and handle real-life conflicts. You will start by identifying your personal values, which will serve as guides for developing your unique approach to communicating and handling conflict. Through engaging role-plays and problem-solving challenges, you will practice using your voice to manage everyday challenges. You will leave with practical tools to communicate clearly and confidently and skills to handle conflict in ways that are in alignment with your values. These tools and skills will empower you to shine on your own terms and step into your power as a boss.

The B.O.S.S. Formula: A STEM Self-Care Lab with Shaundra Wood, Ashli Wilson

In this interactive STEM workshop, girls become young scientists as they create their own self-care wellness spray designed to promote focus, calm, and confidence. Participants will learn the basics of cosmetic chemistry and the science of scent, including how certain scents influence mood and emotions. Using simple ingredients like distilled water, witch hazel, and essential oils, students will measure, mix, and test their formulas. Each participant will design a custom name and label for their spray that reflects their personal goals and energy. Girls will leave with a personalized wellness spray and a new understanding of how STEM connects to everyday wellness and creativity.

To complete your registration, you will need the name and contact information for your parent/responsible adult who supports your attendance at the Loving Me Girls Conference, along with the name and email address of your school guidance counselor. 

Registration will be open from March 5th, 2026 til March 31st, 2026.

Absolutely! There are six workshops in the morning where girls will attend two small group sessions. In the afternoon, there is only one workshop where all girls and volunteers will participate.
